Growth Mindset
The power of believing in yourself, in your ability to grow and improve, is so important when it comes to achieving or succeeding in something.
You’ve gotta have what's called a "growth mindset" when it comes to things like:
🔅 Getting into that program or school
🔅 Growing your career
🔅 Being able to afford your dream house
🔅 and yes — reaching your fitness goals!
...because nothing comes as easily as we'd like in life. Even if we're chasing our biggest dreams, we'll encounter some bumps in the road. But when you have a growth mindset, those bumps can be seen as an opportunity to learn. Even completely failing or missing the mark can be seen as a learning experience in some way!
When I was on my own path to healing my relationship with food and with my body, I saw the bad days as all a part of the journey. I knew I was growing through them. Instead of throwing in the towel when things got hard, or when things didn’t go as expected, I used those moments as opportunities to learn.
When I was on my path to becoming an online coach and trainer, I saw slip ups with my systems or with clients as a part of the learning process. I am SO thankful that I kept up a growth mindset throughout those years! It definitely helped me get me where I am today.
Feeling like you're in more of a "fixed mindset" lately and want to shift to more of a growth mindset? Try asking yourself these simple questions at the end of every day:
What lesson did I learn today?
What steps did I take to make today successful?
What could I have done differently?
What kept me going when things felt difficult?
What did I learn from someone else today?
These questions will push you to see not only the positives that came out of your day, but also the opportunities you came across + took on as your own.
Whatever you're working towards right now — you are doing amazing. Keep up the strong work ethic. You're getting better every day!
