Reverse Dieting

After I wrote my recent blog on the signs of a slow metabolism, where I talked a *little* about how reverse dieting can actually help restore your metabolism back to full speed after years of diets, I thought I'd dive into the basics of reverse dieting next!

If you missed that last one, go check it out! "My Metabolism is SO Slow" Blog Post

I mentioned that reverse dieting can be your solution to weight loss struggles due to a slow metabolism — it's the slow, gradual process of increasing your caloric intake.

But you don't actually do this by tracking your calories...you track your MACROS instead! (aka macronutrients = carbs, fats, and proteins).

If you're already confused — you might be thinking of macros and calories as completely separate things! But actually, all foods are divided up into a combination of the 3 macros, which makes up that foods total calorie content.

Protein and carbs are four calories per gram, and fat is nine calories per gram. So in other words: as you increase your macros, you're also increasing your calories!

After reverse dieting for a while, with the correct strategy (for your current metabolism, goal weight, etc)...you can go from a place of super-low calories & feeling HANGRY to a place of eating good, no more food fear, and a restored metabolism.

You probably will even lose weight while you're eating more and feeling satisfied. Perks of a happy metabolism! It's amazing, and if you think your metabolism is sluggish, I highly recommend a reverse diet so that you can eat normally again without any stress.

Let's ditch the misconception that you need to eat LESS to lose weight!
