5 factors that are slowing down your fat loss
There are several factors that can affect how quickly you lose fat some of which you have total control over to change and in this blog we’re going to explore them together! Let’s go…
First up, your diet. Are you eating a variety of fruits and vegetables, lean proteins, whole grains, and healthy fats? Most of the time this is the type of food you should be eating. If you’re eating super processed food, junk food, lots of sweets, and crisps and chocolate most of the time, it could be why you’re not losing weight.
Lack of physical activity. Regular exercise can help to burn calories, build muscle and increase your metabolism. It doesn’t always have to be something super strenuous and it’s important that you enjoy what you’re doing! You can go walking, swimming, take yoga classes, HIIT classes, do strength training. There are lots of options for moving your body so make sure you pick something you like to do. That way it’s more sustainable.
Bad quality sleep. Getting enough sleep can help your body recover and regulate its hormones, which can help with weight loss. So ensure you’re getting 6-9 hours of good quality sleep every night!
Stress. When we’re stressed we release cortisol which can lead to us craving unhealthy foods that can lead to weight gain. We also tend to hold onto fat when we’re stressed making it harder to lose weight over time. So ensure you take time for yourself every day to relax and practice mindfulness.
Water intake. Drinking water boosts your metabolism and flushes toxins out of your body. It can also help to reduce your appetite, prevent overeating, and of course, keep you hydrated!!
