3 weight loss & nutrition myths busted

There is A LOT of information on the internet about diets, weight loss, nutrition and precisely what you should do to get fit.

And the problem is that a lot of the information out there is complete BS! So in this blog, I want to dispel some of the most common myths about weight loss and nutrition I hear from clients and you guys in my audience.

1. Eating carbs will make you gain weight.

Lots of people cut out this important food group because they think it’s the enemy. But let me tell you… You shouldn’t be cutting out any one food group! And it’s a red flag if you ever hear this from a coach or nutritionist. Carbs are in lots of foods you don’t expect: fruits, veggies, whole grains. All good foods that you should be eating regularly.

2. Eating late at night will make you gain weight.

NOPE. There's no evidence to suggest that the time of day you eat has an effect on your weight. So here is your express permission to eat after 8pm! It’s about what you consume during the course of the entire day, not just what you eat after a certain time.

3. Eating less alone will help you lose weight.

Eating less can help you lose weight but it’s more important to focus on that the type of food you eat because that is just as important as the amount. It’s why I teach my clients to eat a balanced diet of nutrient-rich foods and not just reduce their caloric intake but actually learn what kind of foods to eat to lose weight.

AND if you’re someone who is wanting to gain muscle, then more often than not, you need to eat more not less!
