Tips on how you can stick to your fitness routine even with a busy schedule
How often do you find yourself juggling numerous responsibilities? Alongside your job or business, you’re told to make time for self-care, drink your 3 liters, exercise a few times a week, reply to all your message and make time for socializing with friends and family. It can be a lot to keep up with!
But by managing your time effectively and being intentional with your choices and habits you can still prioritize your fitness in a sustainable way. And here’s how…
1. Get clear on your goals
Set specific fitness goals that align with your schedule. Whether that’s 3 workouts a week or 10k steps 5 times per week, getting super clear on this will give you focus and motivation.
2. Prioritize and make time
Look at your daily routine and figure out where you have pockets of time that you can allocate for your exercise. Get it scheduled in your calendar like you would any other important appointment and stick to it - remember short bursts of exercise are beneficial too so even if its 10/15/20 minutes, it all counts.
3. Optimize your morning routine
If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know I’m obsessed with my routines. Think about waking up a little bit earlier to get your workout in in the morning - you’ll feel more energized for the day ahead and remove the risk of other commitments getting in the way of your exercise plans.
4. Embrace technology
If you struggle to know what to do, check out some fitness apps, online workouts, or an online coach to guide you through. These methods offer you flexibility and convenience allowing you to exercise at a time and in a place that suits you best.
5. Always be kind
Life can be unpredictable so it’s important that you practice self-compassion and embrace flexibility. There are bound to be days your workout plans don’t go as expected so instead of feeling discourage, being flexible will allow you to adapt and find ways to stay active.
Time management is super important when it comes to creating a sustainable fitness routine on a busy schedule. But implementing a few of these tips can really help you overcome to challenges of a hectic lifestyle. Small steps and consistent effort will lead to sustainable long-term results!
