fitness on a budget
Group workout classes are everywhere these days, and they're more popular than ever.
From kickboxing, to cycling, to lagree...there are endless options to get an AMAZING workout in.
But let's not lie to ourselves: they aren't cheap!
And if you ever find yourself comparing yourself to others that go to these classes or gyms, I have a request for you!
DON'T compare yourself to anyone!
You can get an incredible training session in with as little as some extra space in your living room. You don't even need a machine like a treadmill, stationary bike, or weights!
But to keep things fun, it helps to get a little creative! Using accessories that you can find for as little as $15 can upgrade your workout massively. Here are some of my favorite ways to get a great workout in on a budget!
Remember that you can work out anywhere!
As I said, all you need to move your body is some room to do it in...and yourself!
I like to work out at home, but I especially love working out outside. And I don't just mean running — you can train however you'd like outdoors!
Find a park bench or picnic table and ta-da, you have your very own outdoor gym! Or, if you bring a mat or towel with you, you can find a spot on the grass, turn on a timer, and get your sweat on with just your body weight.
Invest in affordable workout accessories.
Body weight workouts are certainly effective, but have you ever tried adding weight/resistance without actual gym weights?
My favorite inexpensive options are resistance bands and ankle weights. You can find these on Amazon, Target, or at any off-price department store near you.
NOTE: there are also resistance bands with handles at each end, which make for great upper body workouts!
Check out some YouTube workout videos.
Sure, you could download a fitness app, buy the premium version, and get access to tons of great workouts led by instructors.
But, you could also just go on YouTube, type in the workout you're looking for (e.g. 30 minute leg workout), and find a bunch of solid FREE options!
The best part about following workout videos is that you can pause them at any time. There is zero pressure to keep up with people around you! So if you need to, take some water breaks. What's most important is that you make it through the workout as best as you can — not how fast you can finish it.
If you loved these ideas, I'd love to hear from you!

Always remember that the ONE thing that makes a workout successful is knowing you showed up and put in the work. You definitely don't have to break the bank to do that!
