Daily Habits for Stress
Even though stress is technically our bodies way of saying "I'm protecting you!"...it doesn't always feel like it's doing us any favors.
It might be helpful when we're in occasional high-pressure situations — but can really take a toll on our health if we feel it all. the. time.
If you've been feeling stress or even burnout lately, it's so important that you don't ignore it and let it build up — instead, acknowledge it and do what you can to relieve it little by little, every single day!
You might not realize it, but even the smallest daily habits can drastically give your mind and body a well-deserved break. I always tell my clients that it's better to be proactive rather than reactive with stress management practices.
Make the time for some of these stress-relief activities this week:
Take a break from screens:
📚 read a book/journal
🌬️ practice breathwork
🌲 go on a nature walk
🖌️ do something creative
Do something for your body:
🍴 cook yourself a yummy healthy meal
🏃♀️ move your body - this doesn't need to be high impact!
😴 take a nap and/or get better sleep
🧘 stretch/yoga/mediation
Do something for you:
🛁 take a bubble bath
🕯️ use aromatherapy
🗑️ declutter your environment
🌞 get some sun
Stress relief doesn't need to happen all at once. Don't put too much pressure on yourself to be completely de-stressed within days! It's also important to practice the stress-relief activities that you ACTUALLY enjoy — don't force yourself to journal if you hate it.
This is a lifelong journey — stress will always come and go. By incorporating healthy habits like these into your routine today, you'll get a head start on feeling more mindful and less stressed for life!
